Like many students who have started this course my path has not been smooth, but no one expected a pandemic to bring the world to a halt and no one expected it to still be affecting the world some eighteen months two years later.
I have always thought that when you produce an image it should not just sit on a piece of film or in your hard drive it should be shown and I have sent prints throughout this course for assessment and so the move to purely digital has been a huge disappointment and a challenge to ensure that the images I have produced do justice to the subject and the participants who have kindly given me their time.
Through the many highs and lows, edits and re-edits I have settled on a series of images which I think demonstrates both the isolation of the place and the strength of these women. In order to show them to their best advantage I have produced a separate website that can be found here.

This site provides access to:
- An Introduction to the project;
- A video of the initial layout and draft book;
- A video of the final image series; and
- A selection of images that didn’t quite make it to the final selection
The aim moving forward into the final module of this course is to complete an outside exhibition at the location and an internal one showing extensive platinum and palladium limited edition prints. The book will be produced as a gift to the women who took part in this project.
