The following blog details the progress and changes made to the original book design submitted for Body of Work in 2021. During SYP the design will progress and develop to result in the final product. Each stage will be documented here along with any external peer feedback.
Currently there are five different versions:
- A male v female version – this consists of black and white ‘male’ image on the left page with a corresponding female portrait on the right (here);
- A female only version – here there are only the portraits of the women, the male element has been replaced by grey pages and the cover of the book will have a different texture (here);
- Male as an overlay – here the male images are throughout the book but have been re-edited as a pencil type sketch and printed on transparent paper so that the female portrait is seen beneath/through the male( here).
- Bi-fold Design –here the male black and white image spans two pages, when these are opened the female image set is printed inside (here).
- All Black and white – this contains no colour images ( here).
Following various reviews and feedback a sixth version has been created.
- Bi-fold with male and female images – the process behind this design can be found here along with a pdf and the video.
