As part of the book production I have undertaken three pieces of collaboration work. The first is with Jim Graydon who wrote the book ‘On the Edge’ based on the rural communities of the Wairarapa in New Zealand. Jim’s foreword can be found here.
The second collaboration is with a fellow student Jack Delmonte. Jack is currently completing BoW and CS but managed to send through a poem which I think will end the book well and captures the feeling of the project and my aims of the work. We held an initial zoom chat to discuss what I wanted and where in the book the piece would fit. Following that Jack requested two images that I thought represented the project; one male and one female. A few days later the work arrived. The poem had been sent first as a pdf with the words written on top of the images and a word version for me to use in the book. Both can be seen here.
The third piece is with another student Flavia who is undertaking level 1 in illustration. She kindly provided three pieces of work for my original draft book that was submitted for assessment for BoW (here). We have spoken via zoom and I have asked for a number of other examples to be worked on that would be in black and white. I would like a selection to be placed throughout the book and one to be made into a lithophane using a 3d printer and then embedded into the front cover of the bespoke book for the exhibition (here).
